Hi Laura,

I’m currently developing an addon that adds a widget area much like the footer one above the content/below the header.

In the meantime, you can use a columns plugin to create three columns in your content.

If you have the Page Header addon, you can add the columns in there, then add content inside each column.

This will achieve the identical look, just without going into the Widgets area.

Where are we on development of home page widgets. I am willing to kick in some development funds. It’s that big an issue and it seems like it’s something that a lot of users want. You would be kicking StudioPress’s butt if you added this feature to GP. Just sayin.

I’m actually glad we never went this route, as Gutenberg is basically the same thing now in core now. We’re working on a block plugin which will make something like this incredibly easy to achieve 🙂
