Hi Tom,
When I use the plug-in display widgets to hide certain widgets on a page the widget indeed is not visible but the default text “Replace this widget content by going to…” show up.
I can disable widgets on pages with CSS but I was wondering if the above behavior is normal.
Try to goto your Appearance > Widget screen and drop a text block (with not text) in there and press save.
That sounds a tab bit funky. When I disable widgets, on a per page / post basis, nothing ever shows up, not even the default template text. I always go into my Customizer too and set a default widget to 0 too. Maybe you should try that..
Thanks @webmaster, working now! That adding text widget helped a lot. I had to also change a few css options like min-height and weight I had set specially to a few footer widgets, but I am happy now π
Hi Tom,
That’s also a possibility. But the footer sidebar has 4 widgets and I want to display one of them on all pages. Than it is in this specific case more difficult.
