Help with Custom Post Type in Widget

Generate Press 3.1.2 (generates a Child Theme)

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I am looking for general guidance on creating a widget to list positions at our plant.
"Position' is a Custom Post Type. Think "Welder', "Inspector', etc.
I would like to pull three or four fields (from a field group) for each position to have show on the right bar in a widget.
I have created the CPT and the fields.
I just don't know how to get started putting that information in a Widget.

Any help is appreciated.
