Thanks very much for your reply. I really appreciate how quickly you got back to me.

I did manage to get the premium plugin updated. It had not shown in WordPress as needing an update. Is there any way I can be sure this will not happen again?

I really like the new Elements and find them quite easy to work with. Thanks for telling me about this feature. I have successfully added a header to the blog page!

To receive auto updates, you need to make sure to activate it first:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/updating-gp-premium/#activating-updates

Then you should receive a dashboard notification when updates are available.

GP Premium was activated and has been for a long time. I don't know why the dashboard didn't show that an update was needed. I have used GP Premium on several other sites and GP Premium shows up as updated on all of them.

You need to make sure the auto update is activated as the link above, not just GP premium.
