Tyrone
Hi. I was editing a page hero this morning, which I’ve set to apply only to _posts_. I’m not quite sure how this happened because it seems unrelated to what I was working on, but somehow, the header bar on my _pages_ no longer displays as transparent to allow the background image of the page to show through.
I have a top bar with menu items. Underneath that is the header section that says ARCHITECTURAL HEALTH Yang Architects.
I also looked at another forum post here:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/transparent-header-2/
and tried going to Customize–>Colors–>Header–>Background and deleting the color and also tried moving the slider to transparent, but the background photograph doesn’t show through anymore.
I don’t know if this is related, but I did have a second Element to Disable Elements–>Site Header applying only to posts, but I deleted that Element.
My page is at http://www.architecturalhealth.com
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks!
Tyrone

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you will need to create a Header Element with the Merge with Content option selected on the Site Header Tab. More info on that here:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/
Then apply its display rules to Pages and the Front Page.

Hi David,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve tried this, but it’s still not working. I thought I was able to get this to work before, but can’t seem to right now. Here’s a folder with some screenshots for what I’ve done:

I wonder if there’s something I’m missing.

StaffCustomer SupportLooks like you fixed the ‘pages’ as all of them apart from Home are now merged
To include the home page, add the Front Page display rule to the element.Documentation: http://docs.generatepress.com/

David,
Great, this works! Thanks for the help. I think I’m all set for now. I guess Generatepress Elements probably override settings in the Customize section of WordPress? Thanks,
Tyrone

StaffCustomer SupportYes Elements will override some customizer settings. Like the Site Header and Navigation colors which means you can manage the non merged colors via the customizer.
