Header image not caching

Hi there,
I have setup Autoptimize as per the article here - https://generatepress.com/fastest-wordpress-theme/ - but I'm finding that the image I've added in the Header Element on the home page is not cached (according to GTmetrix).
Is this because it's a background image?
Any help would be much appreciated!

that is correct, shortpixel can't cache background images unless the are written inline within the markup:
