GTMetrix poor because of Serve Scaled Images

I am using the "Dispatch" theme that comes with the premium version. The home page is full of blog posts that have large images natively. However, that reduces the score on GTMetrix.

I can't reduce the images manually to the requested size because they would look crappy on all blog posts. Also, the homepage will change with each new blog post. Is there a way around?

Hi there,

The only thing that can be done here really is to:

1. Upload images that are only as large as they need to be.
2. Optimize those images using an image optimization tool. There are WP plugins like WP Smush, or you can use a tool like this: https://imagecompressor.com/

As long as the images are relatively small in file size, I wouldn't worry about scaling them too much. Overall page speed is more important than scores, and smaller file sizes mean faster page speed.

Thank you Tom,that helps!

You're welcome :)
