GTM code disappeared from function.php of GeneratePress child theme

A while back I created a GeneratePress child theme using the Child Theme Configurator plugin on one of my websites. At the bottom of the functions.php I placed Google Tag Manager code modified with some hooks that somebody on Upwork had created, and it worked. But now when I look at the function.php file of the GeneratePress child theme, the GTM code is not visible. How could this be?
I'm using version 2.1.3.

Unfortuantely I'm not sure how this could happen or how the child theme plugin works.
GP is not capable of deleting things in your child theme.
I should also mention that you can use Hooks Elements for GTM as well:
