I am using WordPress 5.0.3 with the editor ELEMENTOR and I’m trying to set up a Blog page.

I do NOT want it to be the home page and cannot find the GP Blog Add-On in either Widgets or Plugins to add to the GeneratePress Theme

My Home Page was fairly easy to create, but for some reason I cannot edit the Blog page with background images or give it the appearance I want. Can the Blog page be edited with ELEMENTOR?

I do understand that I cannot import Blog Posts from my other website… but I would like to be able to manually enter them and backdate those posts.

Are the dates auto generated or can you enter the dates you want?

Thank you for any help you can provide…. sorry if the questions seem dumb.. I’m new at this.

    Hi there,

You would need Elementor Pro to design a blog page using elementor.
Posts can be imported. From the Dashboard > Tools > Export (from other site). Tools > Import ( to new site). You can manually adjust the dates for each post in the editor or using the Quick Edit option in the Post List.

Good Morning David and Thank You for your reply… I do have ELEMENTOR PRO but my main problem is… I cannot locate the Plugin/Widget for the GP Blog Add-On … and when I come back to the GP site… there is no place to download the widgets/plugins you are supposed to get when you upgrade to the Premium pack…. even from the SIte Library… you can only “VIEW” the Premium Features… but you can’t install or download them.
I very much appreciate your help. Thanks again.

My apology for the follow up… but.. it was my understanding that unless the “other” blog that I want to import from was created in Word Press (meaning independently coded)… you cannot import that into wordpress – was I mis-informed?

OK, so the Blog page is automatic template within WordPress. Simply create a new page, then go to the Dashboard > Settings > Reading and assign that page to Posts Page.
In Dashboard > Appearance > GeneratePress make sure you have the Blog module activated. You will then have a bunch of controls in Customizer > Layout > Blog.

There are ways of importing blog posts from sites such as Blogger. But if it is a static HTML / hand coded site then you would need to copy and paste.

Thank You…. one more thing… can I pay for your services to assist in setting this up properly and moving the data? Not sure if GeneratePress has a customizing service available – or – if they allow private hiring for special projects.

Thank You again for your speedy reply!

Sorry but we don’t currently have the resources to provide this type of work. You may find some of our GP Facebook community users are able to assist:
