Hooks work great except that the font styles and colors are not inherited from the website. Is there a trick to make that happen or do I have to create CSS (font family, color, links, etc) just for the hook content?

The default styles of the theme should apply to anything you place in hooks – which hooks are you plugging in to?
I have php code for a custom login bar underneath the header. It works correctly, just doesn’t pick the website style.
Very weird – do you have a link to the page with the login bar?
