Global colors - own palette not showing for elements

Hi there,

i wanted to add an extended color palette for me website (which i am doing from scratch right now).
Therefore i deleted the "common" colors + their variable name.

Then i created a palette with 24 colors - with own variables: main-xx, base-xx, comp-metal-xx -> and so on, where x stands for a number

But when i want to pick one of those for an element - e.g.body or primary navigation - as described in "pick colors for elements" it does only show a grey palette below the picker - still with the old variable names (contrast, base, accent).

So the global colors make less sense for me if i cant simply pick them - but have to add the hex for each element.
Am i doing something wrong?
