Get Rid of "Content Analysis" in the WP Editor

Hi.
I'm using SEOPress with GeneratePress, no child theme, latest version.

I contacted support asking how I can get rid of the "Content Analysis" in the WP Editor.
The owner emailed me back the following code and said I should paste it to the GP Theme's "functions.php"
Here's the code:

add_filter('seopress_metaboxe_content_analysis', '__return_false');

Problem: I emailed the owner again requesting where in the functions.php file should I paste this code. In the meantime I did a search on this and found from WP Beginner that it's not a good idea because:

* Edits to the functions file will be lost when the theme is updated.
* Edits will be lost if you change your WordPress theme.
* Making coding errors in the functions file can lock you out of your site.

Ah, not good.

Question: What can I do to get rid of the "content analysis" in the WP Editor? I don't need all that goobly-gook analysis of keywords, keyword in the title, meta, etc. I've got a system that is easier faster and simpler than having to deal with this annoying-page-hogging window. Yes, I know I can click the 'chevron' to hide it, but why can't I just get rid of this all together?

In addition to the developer, I thought you good folks here at GP Support might have a suggestion or two.

See VDO link I sent you to understand better.

As always, thank you for your time, help, and most of all, understanding.

Hi there,

Here's our recommended way/s of adding PHP - https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-php/

It basically says you should make a child theme for its functions.php to place your PHP snippet on.

Alternatively, you can use Code Snippets plugin.

These 2 don't get affected when you update the theme.

Code snippets plugin specifically isn't theme dependent so that one, works even if you change theme.

Looks like the Code Snippets plugin is the best fit. I have no clue as to where in the Functions.php file to place this code snippet.
Looks like the Code Snippet Plugin will take care of that problem.
Awesome, thank you Elvin. \(*<>*)/

Yeah, that's usually my first recommendation when the child theme confuses people. :)

No problem. Glad you got it sorted.
