Generatepress icons to svgs

The lightweight plugin has a fontello.woff font being flagged by google page speed. What does that font do if it uses svgs?

I just downloaded some svgs because the last plugin you shared was also slightly affecting performance as shown by google lighthouse. If you would know of another way to create and use inlined svgs (I just need 4: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, RSS), kindly do let me know. Thanks

Simplest way would be to create a new Menu, and use <img> tags to display the SVGs as the menu item label.

In terms of http requests, will that be faster or slower compared to creating html code for the links and pasting them in a text widget(with the svgs as anchor images)?

Their should be no difference between adding them as menu labels or as HTML widget.

When the theme update is ready the option to replace the icon font with SVGs will be provided. So users can choose between one or the other.

I asked coz /wp-content/plugins/gp-premium/general/icons/gp-premium.ttf has started being flagged by the new Google Speed Insights introduced this week (alongside the woff2 font in the free version).

Yes all fonts will be replaced if the SVG option is selected.
