Aloha,
Building a site with GP, GP Premium, and GB exclusively.
I just want a full-width red row, with a container inner section.
I am SO lost as to what I should be setting in:
1) The customizer
2) sitewide – with a GP Element
3) in the GB layout panelIt seems like this should be so incredibly simple.
Iʻm trying to avoid the .alignfull hack because it triggers a horizontal scroll bar at browser bottom.
Can you offer me some assistance?
I have read forum articles, Facebook posts – I just canʻt get it 🙁
Much thanks 🙂
May 28, 2020 at 1:49 am #1304617DavidStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
you will need to set the Page Builder Container to Full Width:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-builder-container/
Then simply add Container Blocks for the various sections of the page – this includes the content that is not full width this will include the title…
RE: The Title – You will also need to Disable the Content Title.
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/disable-elements-overview/Then Create a new Container for your own replacement H1 Heading title.
May 28, 2020 at 7:42 am #1305002WilliamThanks David,
Sadly, I end up with a fixed-width container no matter what I do.

I cannot seem to overcome the site width (1200px) which I defined in the customizer.
May 28, 2020 at 7:45 am #1305010William^ no matter what I do, I cannot delete this width value.
May 28, 2020 at 12:23 pm #1305480LeoStaffCustomer SupportI believe you have a layout element that’s setting the container width to 1200px.
Can you confirm?
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1May 29, 2020 at 10:33 am #1306790WilliamAloha Leo,
I do not – the only place I set the 1200px is in the Customizer.
I set it there based on a popular GB video by Mike Oliver: https://youtu.be/w6bkxoPu5_c?t=179
I used guidance from the same video to create the Element: https://youtu.be/w6bkxoPu5_c?t=979
Iʻve tried Regenerating the CSS via GB and flushing the site cache at the host level.
I’m baffled 🙂 And appreciate your assistance sincerely.
May 29, 2020 at 1:02 pm #1306928LeoStaffCustomer SupportI’m definitely seeing this CSS which is controlling the content width:
https://www.screencast.com/t/VJP1AuiaUSPDid you check over all the elements?
You can also test by deactivating the element module.
May 29, 2020 at 3:11 pm #1307032WilliamAhhh ha!
My “Post” Element
But it should only be affecting the width for ALL Singlar Posts? Not pages?
——
I remove the 1200 and presto! Full width on my Pages.
https://hpi.ssri.manoa.hawaii.edu/
Is the mistake me trying to control ALL Singlar Post widths with the element? Because doing so actually trickles to the Pages?
May 30, 2020 at 4:09 am #1307462DavidStaffCustomer SupportSingular applies to Posts and Pages – think of it as NOT Archives.

Much appreciated.
