Footer Widgets can´t be removed

Hi guys,
at the bottom of each site the footer widget is visible although I deleted them?! Why is this not removable? Thanks!
If you set it to 0 in "Customize > Layout" but they're still displaying, you most likely have a different value set inside that page.
