Footer Widget Breakpoint

Hi Guys
I have a major problem where a client is insisting on three footer widgets which looks bad on tablet. Is there anyway of eliminating the tablet breakpoints and having the desktop settings persist until the mobile breakpoint but only for the footer widgets.
There isn't an online sample yet.
