Font Awesome icons stopped showing

I am using a custom HTML widget to display links to my social accounts using font awesome icons in the sidebar of my site, but they recently stopped working. I just updated to 2.2.1 hoping it would resolve it but it didn't. I have some custom CSS added to the additional css field of the theme to change font colors when the icon is hovered over. It seemed like the theme had the needed FA calls, but maybe not. If you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

GP doesn't include Font Awesome by default anymore, but we left the option enabled for existing websites for backward-compatibility.
It may be worth updating your icons to Font Awesome 5 with a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/font-awesome/
