Featured Images Not Loading
5 replies · Started by Jessica on March 3, 2022
Hello,
I noticed when I scrolled down on my blog post listings, the featured images no longer load. I turned off lazy loading and tried it on different devices, but the images don't load (the words do, however). I modified the size image as well. The featured image works when I click into the blog post itself. I am not sure what else to do at this point. Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you,
Jessica
Hi there,
Have you resolved this?
The featured images are all loading for me when I checked:

If not then please try to disable all plugins except GP Premium to test.
Screenshots aren't usually helpful for debugging but here is the instruction if needed:

Hello,
Thank you for the quick reply. It doesn't load when I scroll down the page to older blog posts. It loads fine on the home page and on the first posts listed but if I keep scrolling it doesn't load for older posts. For example, if I select the menu>travel>Southeast US...I will see the first few posts but if I keep scrolling towards the bottom, the images fail to load (it even takes a second for the older posts/words to load) Sorry - I am probably bad at explaining this. Please let me know if I need to provide more info. Thanks.
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
Thank you for clarifying. We can see the issue now.
Can you try disabling your image optimization plugin and see if the issue will still exist? This seems like a Jetpack plugin related issue.
It would be best to reach out to them with regards to this.
Hope this helps! :)
I apologize for the delayed response. I disable my image optimization plugin (Smush). And while it did help with loading the images on individual blog posts, I am still having issues with the featured images not loading when I scroll down the page. I also disable lazy loading. Would I have to reach out to Jetpack about this? I did not realize Jetpack also does image optimization. Should I just disable Jetpack?
Thank you!
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
When we try to do debugging, it's better disable all plugins except GP premium.
Then you can activate them one at a time to test which plugin is causing the issue.
