Piotr
Hi,
I have just upgraded to 1.7 and activated elements, but I received this error:
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in xxx/wp-content/plugins/gp-premium/elements/class-hero.php on line 65GeneratePress 2.1.3GP Premium 1.7August 15, 2018 at 7:18 am #649180Tom
Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThat’s strange – what PHP version are you running?

It’s 5.3.29.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThat’s a very old version which is no longer supported. It can leave your site open to nasty stuff like hackers.
I would contact your hosting and ask them to upgrade you to PHP 7. This will not only make your site more secure, but it will make it faster as well.
Let me know π

I’ll try, in the meantime, is there some way to disable the Elements through database? I can’t access my website π
I could disable all plugins, but maybe the easier way is to disable Elements alone?August 15, 2018 at 8:01 am #649306Tom
Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou can search for
generate_package_elements
in thewp_options
table and set it to false. However, it should be easier to get upgraded to PHP 7 – it should only take your hosting a minute.
I’ll get an update out today to prevent this from happening to others.
Thanks!

Thanks Tom,
I have just contacted my hosting. We have very personalized hosting with various-type software, and it may need in-depth testing :/
