Hi,

I have just upgraded to 1.7 and activated elements, but I received this error:
Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in xxx/wp-content/plugins/gp-premium/elements/class-hero.php on line 65

That's strange - what PHP version are you running?

It's 5.3.29.

That's a very old version which is no longer supported. It can leave your site open to nasty stuff like hackers.

I would contact your hosting and ask them to upgrade you to PHP 7. This will not only make your site more secure, but it will make it faster as well.

Let me know :)

I'll try, in the meantime, is there some way to disable the Elements through database? I can't access my website :)
I could disable all plugins, but maybe the easier way is to disable Elements alone?

You can search for generate_package_elements in the wp_options table and set it to false.

However, it should be easier to get upgraded to PHP 7 - it should only take your hosting a minute.

I'll get an update out today to prevent this from happening to others.

Thanks!

Thanks Tom,

I have just contacted my hosting. We have very personalized hosting with various-type software, and it may need in-depth testing :/

Ah, I understand. Sorry for the inconvenience!

No worries, I appreciate your support and generally the theme.

I just released GPP 1.7.1 which fixes this on old PHP versions :)

Hey Tom, great news :)

I have just updated and was able to test Elements already.

Thanks again!

Awesome! Thanks for reporting this to us :)
