[Resolved] Export/Import

Tom, I used your add-on to export the settings from my sandbox site to my production site. Everything seemed to go fine in the process, and it appears that the settings are the same from what I can see, but the new site doesn’t really look like the old site. Particularly the spacing of things…for example, the header has a logo on the left and the menu on the right, and they are much further from each other (kind of hugging the respective edges of my screen) in the new site, but that is not how they look on the site I imported from. I don’t know how to proceed to make the changes, because the values are already set the same as the old site 🙂

I’m assuming I am the factor that is causing the problem, not GP, but if there is something you can point me to to look at, I would appreciate knowing.

Otherwise, do you think I should delete this GP and then reinstall GP again and manually make the settings identical to the other site?

Hi Meredith,

It really depends on your other WordPress settings. Maybe your menu is different?

Super hard for me to tell without seeing each site and being able to compare.

So…I resolved this problem by uninstalling WP, getting a fresh WP install, and will now manually recreate the settings. I am sure, quite sure, the issue was something I did somehow, but I didn’t really want to take a few days to figure it out, so I am starting over!
