Exclusions Page Header & Layout GPP 1.7 element Issues

I am having lots of issues with the page hero and layout elements seeming to conflict with themselves and not including and excluding Properly. I have a pretty simple test site that really just has a couple of main page Heroes one for the homepage one for the rest of the site and then a layout that excludes the header all together. It seems really flaky for sometimes it works and then I add another page exclusion and it does not? No matter what combination I seem to try I can't get the homepage Page Hero to show up in the right place and to get the layout exclusion to stop showing the header on the pages I have set.

I have tried turning all my plugins off all the Snippets also and that did not seem to do anything.

Is there a filter or a snippet that can bring back my page headers?

Hey Todd,

Do you want to work on getting your Elements working, or would you rather bring Page Headers back?

Let me know :)

I would much rather move forward with Elements for I really like the promise of what this offers.

Would it be best if I got you into the site?

Tom, this was very helpful. Great work on GPP 1.7 sure look forward to the productivity gains that this will afford.

When I have the hero across some pages I have the custom field in the header to show up when I add it and on some pages like the above it shows up even when this field is not populated?

That's not right - I'll look into that ASAP.

Just to mention i also got this when i was testing the first beta version and was intending to report but then i did something and it resolved itself. I know it's not of much help but just wanted to say it's solvable i guess.

Yes, for now I have this removed with CSS but would like to see if there is a better solution. I also noticed that the title should is getting repeated or not removed like it does normally.

Can you show me this happening possibly?

Ah, found out why the template tag was displaying.

The {{custom_field.xx}} tag is meant for singular templates (as they can only have custom fields).

When a hero is used on a non-singular template with this template tag, the Hero doesn't even begin to search and replace it.

Thanks Tom, so CSS display:none is going to be my best option for the custom-field?

Any category page or archive page does not remove the title like
a singular page. Same issue? What would you suggest here, Should I try CSS here or a maybe create a another Hero that would just be for these pages, or a Elements layout with the title disabled?

I would suggest different Page Heros for singular pages and archives.

Does it remove the regular category titles? I'll have to look into removing the product category titles as well. For now CSS is best for that.

OK thank you.

You're welcome :)
