Excessive gaps on main page

I am experienceing an issue with my main page having excessive gaps between the displayed article excrepts. I am using GP with column display, and the "masonic" option, on Wordpress 5. it is possible that broke somthing in my quest for increasing page speed but I'm not sure what, becaue in older versions it worked well. Can you provide any guidance on where to start my search?

Problem resolved, it was the WP Rocket Lazy Load plugin. Kinda jumped the gun with this post, my apologies. Rookie error.
