[Resolved] Excerpt issues

Hi,

Am using the elements feature to display a small grid with the excerpt block and the featured image to the right. My excerpts (some) are quite long, and have line breaks. Some posts show the full excerpt (without line breaks) , others show a truncated version (without line breaks). I’ve tried various code snippets to restore line breaks to the excerpts, but none work.

Also the customiser screen word count doesn’t work. I’ve tried the suggestions on your help page (they’re all standard format posts without any read more)

Are you referring to the Post Excerpt block from WP core?

If so I don’t believe that’s something the theme can control unfortunately.

Can you activate a Twenty series WP theme to see if the same issue exist there?

The block is quite new and doesn’t have documentation yet either:

Hi,

It’s in a group of blocks marked “Theme” with things like query loop, and navigation etc I assumed they were generatepress blocks I tried with the twenty series themes, and it’s a generic thing. Apologies, I’ll have to look for another way of doing this.
