    Hi Tom,

I get this error. I saved the addon as a zip file on my computer.

Unable to create directory uploads/2016/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

What could I have done wrong?

Looks like you might have some permission issues going on with your server.

I would contact them (your hosting) and ask them to make sure WordPress can write to the server.

Thank you for the quick reply. I’ll contact the hosting service.

    Hi again Tom,

I am still getting the same error message, after an hour on the phone with my hosting service. They say the fixed the permission, I cleared my cache, I rebooted, I used a different browser. Still getting the same message

Unable to create directory uploads/2016/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    Any ideas?

Tom, problem solved. It took four calls to my hosting service. Twice they hung up on me. Finally got someone who was both competent and courteous. Plugins are now loaded and I’m ready to go!

Thanks for trying Tom. Unfortunately the above did not work.

    Are you on local host?

If so the plugin “Windows Compatibility Fix” didn’t help?

No. The hosting company is looking into it. I was not able to download the plugin.

Ahh so you are it’s a live site?

If so the plugin won’t help.

Your hosting company should be able to resolve it ๐Ÿ™‚
