Error and show date question

Hello,
We are having issues to update from 2.1.1 to 2.1.2.
Error as below

Can you let us know if we download the plugin to manually update it, do we first need to remove the installed plugin?
Will it cause any issues / changes to the website if plugin is removed and installed again?
Next question:
How do we not show date on Google search result?
I have turned off the show date in Appearance but that doesnt seem to help.

If you don't remove it then WP will do that for you when you upload the new one.
Personally i still remove old plugins first.
2. Will it cause any issues / changes to the website if plugin is removed and installed again?
No - the plugin settings are saved in the database so the settings will remain.
There should be no issues. But just for peace of mind always have a recent backup to hand.
3. Google shows dates generally because it finds some meta on the page eg. a time/date tag in the head of the sites, and that date is also visible on the page. Whether google shows or removes that is up to google.
But - If you want to share a link to a post where the date is showing in Google SERPS ill take a look for any code that my be affecting that
No you can simply upload the new plugin and WP will replace the existing one. Any plugin settings are saved in the database so updating this way won't affect those settings.
