Elements and Child Theme

If I'm creating a header in elements do I have to install a blank child theme?
Do I need a child theme if I'm going to be using elements?

I keep recreating a site and each time I create a page header in elements to be applied to one page my page builder (Elementor) throws a page cannot be displayed error.

You are referring to header element?

If so then no child theme is not required. In fact child theme is not required to use any of GP's features.

good to know. changed my php version to 7.1 and memory limit to 256 - looks good now.
