Editor Error

I am receiving an error when trying to edit posts or pages on my blog. It reads: "The editor has encountered an unexpected error" and then it gives me the options of attempt recovery, copy post text, and copy error. This has been happening since yesterday. What do I do?
Hi there,
couple of things to try:
First - install the Gutenberg plugin this will bring the editor up to the latest version so may eliminate an old bug.
Second - disable all other plugins to see if there is a plugin conflict.
Thank you for the help! Disabling all the plugins solved the problem. I activated each plug in again one at a time and checked the editing status of my posts/pages. It looks like the plugin with the problem is Riddle Quiz Maker. We use this plug in for a lot of things. So, far we've had it activated for two months, and it's never caused a problem. Is there something I can do to still be able to use the plug in? Thank you!
You may need to take it up with the Author, according to WordPress.org the free version is tested up to WP 5.2 so it should work.
Do you have the Gutenberg plugin also installed? As this incorporates a lot of bug fixes in the main editor, although a lot of them are now in 5.2
No. I don't have the Gutenberg plugin installed. When I install it, do I need to do anything with it?
The plugin will need to be activated like any other plugins :)
Right. I don't need to do anything else though?
Nothing else required - just install and activate. It will effectively 'replace' the built in editor
Thank you!
You're welcome - let us know how you get on :)
