Tried to create a new post today. It does not allow you to input anything into the main body of the article. It will allow you to put a title, But when you try to click the cursor into the body of the article box. It will not go into it. I had gutenberg disabled and was using the old editor. I tried to deactivate all the plugins but then when you try to open a new post, it just shows a blank white screen. Any ideas of why this would be happening or if anyone else has seen this problem?

Hi there,

Haven't had this reported.

Same issue if you use a twenty series WP theme?

No issue with the Twenty nineteen theme

I dont think it would be the PHP limit as we are on a much larger hosting service than we need for our website. I tested it out again and tried the 2019 theme. Once I switched it to that. The problem was fixed. I tried again to deactivate all the plugins and also switched back and forth with GP theme and 2019. Issue only happens when GP theme is activated. I can send dashboard access for you to take a look. I have put it back on the GP theme and activated all plugins as we can not have our site down for too long as traffic keeps going to our articles and home page and that is how we make money. lol. I will send the dashboard credentials now.

That case can you please clone the site on a test site environment?

We will have to disable plugins to test unfortunately as this problem has not been reported by any other users.

I tried for a while to make a staging site, but could not figure out how to log into it.

trying to get siteground to remedy the test site problem

Ok got it to work

I will send info in the account issues

Hey Leo, Looks like I was able to fix the issue. After checking a couple other sites of ours that use GP as well. I duplicated all the plugins for boths sites and one was working and the other was not. So I knew it was not the GP theme itself but something that had been changed on it. Then a light bulb went on in my head and I remember I changed some code in the theme Functions.php.

I added some code to defer parsing of javascript. I removed this code and the editor now works normally. Thanks for looking into it though and sorry for the back and forth, obviously my fault. Do you guys happen to know the right code to put in there for defer parsing of the javascript? I was trying to speed things up on the site.

Glad you figured out :)

And no unfortunately I don't know what code you are referring to.
