Edit Search Results Layout

I'd like to be able to control how my Search Results are displayed. I can't find a file to edit so I assume it's controlled by coding. Not my strong suit but I'll do what ever is needed. Can anyone help?

You can try a block element - content template, assign it to the search result page:
