Does GP add its own set of smilies?

Hey Tom
I removed all of the smilies from the wp-includes/images/smilies folder and clear all my browser caching. However smilies still appear when the correct shortcodes and entered in a comments. This has got me a little baffled. If I have deleted all of the WP smilies where are these images coming from? Does GP adds its own smilies and if so where are they located?

No, GP doesn't add smilies.
