Does GeneratePress still use jQuery?

Hi,

I'm using the WP Search with Algolia plugin on my domain http://www.timeatlas.com, and sometimes it doesn't do anything. For example, if I look at Dev Console, I see a reference to uncaught error and jQuery not defined. But..sometimes it does work.

I recall seeing a previous post with something about jQuery was still used for Sticky Navigation, which I use, but things were being rewritten for vanilla JS. However, when I use dev tools and go to the Network panel, I don't see jQuery at all.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

The free theme itself doesn't use any jQuery and the only option that requires jQuery in the premium plugin is the sticky navigation.

If you are using the sticky navigation without transition effect then we can actually replace it with CSS.

I see a reference to uncaught error and jQuery not defined. But..sometimes it does work.

Are you sure that's coming from GP? Have you tried disabling all plugins except GP Premium to test?

Hi Leo,

I don't think the jQuery error is coming from GP. If I look at the console log it references the URL with the search query appended. " /?s=google+sheets". This makes me think the Algolia search plugin is looking for jQuery.

So, if I have sticky menu on both desktop and mobile, it jQuery loaded immediately, or just when the user scrolls far enough down?

It's loaded if you have the option activated.

Thanks.

No problem :)
