Do I Need My Date Schema Inline?

Hi,

My date schema is in the header of the post, not inline. Someone in my facebook group suggested having it inline rather than in the header of the post.

Their opinion was it made it easier for google to see how recent the post is and display the latest update date in the serps.

If this is a good idea, can you please tell me how to do this?

Thanks very much for your help.

Hi Jodie,

I believe you don't have to do this as it's already added to the default date/timestamps.

See this - https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuoD6xR

But this is for the default entry meta of the theme. If you're using a widget coming from a plugin and their rendered HTML doesn't have itemscope or itemprop then you'll have to ask its developer on how to go about it. :D

Thanks very much for your reply Elvin.

I've sent you the code that a member suggested to use to make sure google is seeing the correct Time stamp

My sites use the Generate Press Child Theme.

Is this code included in Generate Press? Is this code above needed? How do I tell if I need to put it on my sites.

Cheers

Jodie

I don't think this is from the theme. It's using a different class.

This isn't necessary.

From this screenshot - See this – https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuoD6xR - the first highlighted code is basically the same thing.
