[Resolved] Do I even need a child theme?

I am using an excellent plugin called PHP Snippets which allows you to add snippets throughout your site in the functions.php file.

My question is – if I use this plugin then it seems that I don’t really need a Child Theme?

I am using GP Premium so what happens if I update the theme (the GP Premium Theme/ Plugin?) – does everything remain just as it is?

A child theme is definitely not required.

Using a plugin to add functions is one of our suggestions as well:
