Display specific blogs on product pages

I'm trying to get some specific related posts to appear on product pages. I've created an element that shows the latest blog posts on all product pages - is there a way I can manually choose and display specific posts on individual product pages?
E.g. Product red shoes --> Here are two blog posts about red shoes that I have chosen to show.

to do that would require someway of setting a 'relationship' between a product and a post.
There are some plugins that can do this kind of thing, although they are very server hungry - for example:
