Hiya - I have lots of product categories and when using the header element display rules I often have 10+ of the same worded "category" - is it possible to view the slug instead of the category itself as that is unique?

(I cannot change them as there are 300+ product categories but as they are all schools a lot of the sub cats are the same Senior/Junior etc)

also is there a reason why only product category archive only seems to work va product category - what's the difference?

Otherwise working exactly as I needed! So thank you
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I just double-checked the code, and unfortunately, there isn't a way to change the label to the slug currently.

What you could try is right clicking the select box and clicking "Inspect". Then find the <select> element, and look through its items. In there you should see which category is which.

also is there a reason why only product category archive only seems to work va product category – what’s the difference?

I'm not too sure what you mean by the above. Can you explain a bit more?

Let me know :)

Ok Thanks Tom I will give the inspect a try - as I was not able to see the code details to determine the order in which they are displaying to give myself a hint :) I doubt that this issue will happen for most people anyways

Oh with regards to the "product category archive" in the same section, for LOCATION - if I select "product category" the headers do not work I have to select "product category archive" for it to actually display on the product category page - just seemed odd that "Product category" didn't seem to work - but that might be a wordpress thing and not anything to do with elements

Ah yes, the "Product Category" option applies to products inside the category you specify, as opposed to the product archive.

Hi Tom - so if I want the header to show when viewing the category called "SCHOOL" I would select product category archive - if I wanted all the products contained within the same category "SCHOOL" I would select product category? As I would love both - which would be awesome!

Also if I have a category structure
HOME
SCHOOL
- SCHOOL 1
-- AGE 5
- SCHOOL 2
-- AGE 4
-- AGE 3

And I would like the header of SCHOOL>SCHOOL 1>AGE 5 & products to all be the same, do I need to select product category archive for each SCHOOL 1 & AGE 5 and then product category for AGE 5 to cover products? Or is that wrong?

Sorry about this just trying to figure it out is all

Thank you
Sarah

Yes, I believe that would be necessary. Sub-categories might inherit the parent category header, but I'm not 100% sure.

ok great thank you and yes currently it does seem to NOT inherit headers (which does kind of make sense to be honest!)

Thank you for all the help

No problem :)
