    Hi,

I want to use Elementor’s new features to allow me to use it to style my single blog posts and the archives. With the former it’s easy as there is an option to make things full width. This option is not visible with the Archive template. Essentially I have a footer designed with Elementor that needs to be full width. I basically seem to have the same issue as raised in an earlier support thread as follows:

    https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/conflict-with-new-elementor-archive-pages/

Now I had hoped that the code mentioned in this thread would simply be added to additional CSS but that did not work so I’m guessing I need a child theme and then to edit the functions.php. I can try this but I don’t use child themes. I can’t remember exactly why but there was some issue where the advice was to stop using the child theme. I’m happy to try a child theme if that’s the solution in case my earlier issue is no longer relevant.

You can see my display issue on the following page:

This is what I want it to look like as it appears on single posts:

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks
    Gary

Hi Gary, that code is PHP and either needs to be added to the child theme function file. But as you don’t have one then you can use the Code Snippets plugin listed here:
