Is it possible to display the status of a user's comment (pending, approved) on the front end next to the user's comment?
This thread seems to indicate most themes do, but I've never seen it.

WordPress does this by default - if you've never had a comment approved before, it will display a message above your comment telling you it's waiting to be approved.

So is this visible on gp? I can't see it.

Yea - when you post a comment as a complete stranger who has never commented before/isn't logged in, you'll see this message below the date and time:

Your comment is awaiting moderation.

Ahhhh, but I've got moderation on even if they are logged in and have already posted a comment. If there a way to show the moderation notice in that situation?

I'm not sure - it's all handled by the WordPress function that handles comments. You may be able to find some info by searching around.

Cool, I'll stackexchange that sucker.

Awesome :)

Folks
In terms of above:
"Your comment is awaiting moderation."

You will not see it if you removed "required" fields like email or name. Not sure how to fix it yet.
(gush - its 1 year old :) )
