I’m using Dispatch and I see there is a menu set up under “Appearance” “Menus” that has social media links. It’s called Social-Tasty, but I don’t actually see it on my site or how to get it to appear. Also, there are a couple social media icons on the home page in the top right corner ( the Facebook “f” and twitter) but I don’t know where/how to set the links for them or how to add more social media icons. Help would be great, thanks!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
It sounds like that menu was imported during the import process for the “Tasty” site – you can likely just delete it.
Dispatch adds its social icons in the Header widget which you can find in “Appearance > Widgets”.
Let me know if you need more info ๐

Nevermind! I figured it out! It’s in the widget menu.

Hi I’m using the Tasty theme and I imported it with the default settings. However I don’t see the social media icons next to the menu items or in the footer. I didn’t see anything under Widgets either.
Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
does your site have any content? If not can you try re-installing the Site. Let us know.

Hi yes it does have content. This is what I see in the CSS
.main-navigation:not(.toggled) li.menu-social > a,
.main-navigation:not(.toggled) li.search-item > a{
padding: 0 10px;
}Should the Social menu be under “Appearance>Menu”?

StaffCustomer SupportThe site uses a plugin to add the icons. Looks like that plugin was missed off when importing. First can you check your Plugins to see if there is a Menu Icons plugin there?

Thank you I installed it. Do you know what the default settings should be? Nothing appeared in my menu and I don’t see anywhere where I can add links to my social media pages. I tried rolling back to the previous version of the plugin as well but nothing appeared

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperWith that plugin you need to add menu items in “Appearance > Menus”.
You should see an icon option once you add a custom link: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-wordpress-menu-builder/#custom-link

Hi thank you now I understand. How do I get only the social media icons to display in the footer bar widget, like in the demo? I’ve added the CSS class to the social media menu icons. Thanks!

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
the footer uses a Navigation Widget – so you just need to create a separate menu for your icons and choose that menu in the widget.
