Disable Font Awesome

I noticed running a Lighthouse report for a site that FontAwesome was loading on a site where it's not used. I've tracked this back to GP theme even though I've seen here a number of times that Font Awesome isn't in the theme.
I set up a blank install and sure enough, it's in the theme …/themes/generatepress/css/font-awesome.min.css?ver=4.7
What's the best way to disable?

Fontawesome icons was removed in GP 2.0 - so would be a little surprised to see the option or the FA icons being installed.
check in the Customizer > General - is there is a setting for Load Essentials Icons Only ?
If so uncheck that.
