Difference between 'Separate containers' and 'One-container' content layout

Hi there,

so this site uses the one-container so you can see on the blog page that there are no gaps between elements.

Whereas a traditional blog page using separate containers with side bars etc is like so:

https://gpsites.co/wordsmith/blog/

To make that clearer the visual hook guide - is displayed using separate containers:
