While we can customise the front-page the way we want using sections, it is additional work to install dependent plugins such as wp post show or widget shortcode etc. to display / group related contents in the frontpage.

Is it possible to provide more widget areas by default? Like MH NewsMagazine theme?

    Hi there,

not sure how many widget areas that theme uses – GP has two sidebar widget areas that can be aligned to either side or both on one side of the primary content. If needed you can add your own widget areas to any of the Hooks in the GP template. If you need a hand with that we can help with getting you started – it requires some PHP coding.

WP Show Posts does require set up in the backend but it provides a Widget for adding the Lists you create. We don’t add any widgets to the theme, as not all users would require them and would add ‘redundant code / bloat’ to the theme.
