I know you're rolling out an update to BPH, will there be a way to use the blog page header metabox section as the default fallback image for the entire site?

So you want to be able to set a header (just image, or content as well?) site-wide, but only if a page header isn't set on that page?
I'm looking for a way to set a fallback image with the page headers if there isn't one set as well. Is there a way to do this with a conditional tag?
Are you just using images? It would be do-able if you're using the core WordPress featured image meta box.
