Hi,

I want to build a custom homepage for my site. I have attached the url in pvt. I would like to create the customization using generateblocks or any other elements of generatepress you'd like to suggest.

Please note I am using basic generatepress theme and not any template. I would like my homepage design loosely based and similar to the following sites.

1) https://www.homegrounds.co/

2) https://www.herepup.com/

3) https://www.memoryfoamtalk.com/

Hi there,

i don't see anything too complicated, GenerateBlocks will be able to manage the layout. And for the Post lists you would need to use the WP Show Posts plugin.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

You see I'm not very well versed with WordPress and design. Like do I need to create a new static page for homepage or can do it on the blog roll?

Could you link me to some resource or tutorial for similar pages?

I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Hi Nalin,

If you just need one set of posts list which is your latest posts, then you can keep the blog page as your front page, and add an block element to it.

The homepage of Charge template in our library is built in this way, here's the walkthrough video of it:

If you need several sets of post lists or more static content, then it's better to create a static page as your new front page/homepage.

You can add the static content to the page, and using WP show posts plugin to generate lists of posts, insert its shortcode to the static page.

An example here is the Donate site template, here's the walkthrough video:

Let me know if you need further assistance :)

Hi Nalin,

GenerateBlocks won' be enough for sites #1 and #2 as some sections have post lists that would require a post list plugin as what David and Ying mentioned. For that, you'll need a post list plugin like WP Show Posts.

As for step by step guide on how to do this w/ GB:

We don't have one, unfortunately. But you can check http://generateblocks.com/ and watch the video on how it's used. This should give you an idea on how to go about replicating these pages.

Alright, I'll watch the tutorials. Thanks for your help guys.

No problem. Glad to be of any help. :D
