I would like to be able to add the actual “author” of the article/blog post and not have “Admin” showing up all of the time. I contacted WordPress.org for assistance… but they said it would need a custom code.

I do not know who to do this and would like to know if there is any way to add a field to the “NEW POST” area so I can enter the real author and give them the proper credit for their article/post?

Even though I have “author” unchecked… Admin still shows up next to the date.

I read a previous support question regarding a similar issue and I do not have anything in the Elements area of GeneratePress for “Single Posts”

Also… I cannot locate anything in Plug-ins or Widgets for Generate Press Blog Add-on ….. do I need a link to download that?

    I have a screenshot attached…. screenshot

    Thank You.. Susan

    Hi there,

By WordPress default, the author name should be the Username under Dashboard > Users.

So if your user name is Admin, then the post author will show as Admin.

If you have multiple authors, it’s best to create an Author account for each of them.
You can see the explanations here:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities#Summary_of_Roles

I’m not aware of any code or plugin that will add a special field like you mentioned and don’t think it’s a good idea.

As for the GP’s blog add-on, make sure the module is activated here:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/#activate-your-modules

Then you will see these options in the customizer:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/blog-overview/

Let me know if this helps 🙂
