I have big problems to understand how I can add a menu to a Post type, I got a post type that I want to add a custom menu with links to sections on that page.
I had hoped that I could do use the secondary navigation and a Element hook to add a display rule to the post type but I just don't get it,
Could someone point me in the right direction please,

So you are wanting to use the secondary navigation only on that certain post type?
If so, you can disable it using Layout Element:

Choose Entire site for location and the certain post type under exclusion:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#display-rules
