cURL error 7: couldn\'t connect to host error

Attempting to activate my Premium Generatepress theme on a new site,
and I keep getting the following error: "cURL error 7: couldn't connect to host"
The theme downloaded fine, followed the directions given in the video for installing the theme, but when I attempt to activate my license key, that is the message I get. I deleted and reinstalled the theme, and still getting the same error.
Anyone have any suggestions to how to fix this?

This usually means your server is refusing to communicate to our server: generatepress.com
You can report the error to your hosting support and they should be able to allow communication.
