Cumulative layout shift issue

I’m using the “Coach” theme. I have 2 issues.

1. Analyzing the site with the PageSpeed Insights tools, it gets a VERY BAD Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) rank in MOBILE navigation.
It depends on a change of the theme layout during the page loading. Can you fix it? (It would be useful for all your customers) or have I to change the theme?

2. The logo image has not explicit width and height (width="" height=“”). It has a negative impact on the loading time. Can you fix it?

Thank you for your support.

Hi there,

can you share a link to your site - as inherently a clean install of the coach site generates 0 or sub 0.01 CLS. Most CLS issues are caused due to cache/optimization plugins or other code that is interfering with the layout.

First step is to disable the Optimized CSS delivery in WP Rocket - unless you know how to manually configure the Critical CSS then we advise not to use it as its one of the most common causes of CLS we see.

Hi David,

1. I disabled the Optimized CSS delivery in WP Rocket but the CLS issue and the "logo not explicited width and height" issue are still there.

2. Following the suggestion you gave in a different post ("Go to Customizer > General and set the Structure to Flexbox. Then remove your Site Identity Logo, publish the changes and then re-add your logo. This will add the missing width/height attributes to the logo") I REMOVED the site identity logo. Well, it correctly disappeared in desktop navigation, but:
A. THE LOGO IS STILL THERE in mobile navigation (please note that I deleted the cache and the OPcache in WP Rocket. I flushed the Dynamic cache and I disabled the memcached object in in Siteground. I deleted the cache of the browser).
B. The PageSpeed insight tool still shows the logo in the same place and it still generate an issue with the CLS.

Please can you help? Where's that logo? How can I get rid of the CLS issue?

Thank you for your support.

Hi Davide,

For 1 and 2:

Can you tell us the GP Premium and GeneratePress version you're using?

This was a common issue prior to GP Premium 2.0 release. This was patched here -
https://generatepress.com/introducing-the-gp-theme-builder/

"Menu Plus: Add dimensions to mobile/sticky logos"

The logos added prior to GP Premium 2.0 update don't automatically get the attributes so David's suggestion from another thread normally fixes. (reuploading the logo applies attributes to this on GPP 2.0)

Hi Elvin,

Generate press version: 3.0.3
GP Premium version: 2.0.2

Please I need an answer to question 2 (points A and B) too. I deleted the logo but while it correctly disappeared in desktop navigation, in mobile navigation the logo is still in the same place.

The second logo for mobile is in Customizer > Layout > Header --> Mobile Header.
