Creating Unique Home Page

I have what is probably a very dumb question.
I just got done creating a custom design and it is looking great, however not having done this kind of work for some time I don't understand how to make my home page content not show when visiting other pages.
I unfortunately can't share a website URL because I am running this all on localhost for now.

How are you adding those content?
Might be easier if you can duplicate this on a live server?
I think in my noobness/rustiness of skill I asked a dumb question. I just realized after I got the template looking like the home page that each page has the opportunity to add custom html, therefore I need to cut and copy the code related only to the home page onto the actual home page and the CSS references will work. I'm going to give that a go and see if I'm on the right track now. Sorry, that was a dumb question.
