I am trying to set a universal max width for my entire site (including the header and footer sections) for large screen sizes.

I’m not able to find this ability in the layout section of customise. It only allows me to set the ‘container width’ and padding around around the content.

Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thanks!

    Hi there,

you can use the Layout Module to set the pagebuilder container to full width:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-builder-container/

If you want to do this dynamically then use the layout element:

I have already done this. Let me be more clear.

Up to 1366px I need a full width screen. Above 1366px, I want the ENTIRE site (header plus content) to stay at 1366px even if the screen is wider (ie I want it to stop being full screen). There should be a responsive white margin that appears on the left hand side for screens larger than 1366px.

An example of similar behaviour is on the http://www.nytimes.com website. The width is full screen below 1200px but then the margin on either side increases when the window goes above 1200px.

Looking at your Site you are using Elementor with full width sections so you need to edit each of the Sections > Layout > Content Width –> Set to Boxed.
Then you can set the Content Width Globally ( as opposed to on each Section ) via Hamburger Menu > Global Settings > Content Width.
