Hi guys, this may sound like a stupid question but I just wanted to check the process for starting a new site. I always use WordPress, so do I just add a new site through there, then import the GeneratePress theme I want to use and I’ll then have a GeneratePress site? Or is there a GeneratePress platform I have to create it on? Thanks!

    Hi there,

    its all done in WordPress.
With your new site – follow the instructions here for installing GP:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/

Once installed – if you want to import a site from our library, go to Appearance > GeneratePress and Activate the Site Library Module then follow this guide:

    Hi David,

Thanks for this. I’ve tried to follow these instructions: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/ and I’ve downloaded the zip file of it and uploaded but I’m not sure if I’ve done something wrong because I don’t see GeneratePress in appearance.

I can see GP Premium in plugins and it’s activated (although if I press Configure it says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” but I don’t see it in appearance and I can’t access the themes to select the one I want!

My site when viewing it says
“MY WORDPRESS Just another WordPress site”
at the top so I feel like I must have done something wrong?

    Thanks,
    Ella

Have you done the first step of installing the free GeneratePress theme before installing the GP Premium plugin?

    Let me know 🙂
